Overview

The United States Army Cadet Corps (USAC) is a nationwide Army-oriented, high-adventure career exploration program for young men and women, beginning at age 12 (or have started the 6th grade) and typically continuing through age 18 or after graduation from high school. Cadets join hometown companies or detachments, which generally train one weekend a month, much like an Army Reservist or National Guard Soldier.

The USAC is a nonprofit youth development program dedicated to serving America’s young men and women. The primary purpose of the USAC is to instill traditional American values, while providing an extremely realistic and challenging view of Army life. This further results in combating juvenile delinquency, apathy, and substance abuse. We accomplish our mission through the dedicated service of a cadre of “non-paid professional” officers and NCOs who provide leadership and management for the program nationwide.
